OPERATION WAKE
OUR STORY
Operation Wake began with a simple realization: the life we wanted for our family would not arrive by accident.
THE DECISION
We are a family preparing for a life shaped by faith, family, freedom, education, and exploration. We are working toward a future where our children can learn from coastlines, weather systems, marine life, navigation, history, and the people we meet.
The boat is part of that future, but it is not the entire mission. Operation Wake is about becoming the family capable of living that life responsibly. That means reducing debt, building flexible income, learning seamanship, strengthening practical skills, and documenting the journey honestly.
WHAT WE ARE BUILDING
See more of the world together and experience it with curiosity rather than hurry.
Turn navigation, weather, natural science, culture, and stewardship into a living classroom.
Care for the places we visit, respect the water, and leave each harbor better than we found it.
Show other families that meaningful change can begin long before every detail is perfect.
THE ROAD AHEAD
Eliminate debt, grow flexible income, simplify our lives, and build the margin needed to buy the right boat without forcing the decision.
Purchase our first cruising boat, learn her systems, and discover what living and homeschooling aboard actually require from our family.
Expand our range gradually — the Keys, the Bahamas, eventually the Caribbean — until extended cruising is our normal rhythm.
Prepare for our first ocean crossing only once the family, the vessel, and the conditions are truly ready.
FOLLOW FROM THE BEGINNING
This is the part of the story usually skipped in adventure channels: the years of preparation, sacrifice, planning, doubt, learning, and steady forward motion.
