Phase 1 · Building the Foundation
We are eliminating debt, growing our income, launching Operation Wake, and searching for the right first cruising sailboat.
OPERATION WAKE
THE JOURNEY
We are not racing toward a date. We are building the knowledge, confidence, financial stability, and family rhythm required to make each next chapter possible.
We are eliminating debt, growing our income, launching Operation Wake, and searching for the right first cruising sailboat.
WHERE WE STAND TODAY
The current mission is simple: strengthen the family, reduce financial pressure, grow flexible income, learn continuously, and prepare to purchase the right first cruising boat when the foundation is ready.
THE FOUR CHAPTERS
Eliminate consumer debt, strengthen savings, grow flexible income, simplify our lives, launch Operation Wake publicly, and build the financial margin needed to buy the right boat without forcing the decision.
Our family is financially and practically ready to purchase a cruising sailboat.
Purchase our first cruising boat, learn every system, develop safe routines, practice docking and anchoring, build weather judgment, handle maintenance, and discover what living and homeschooling aboard actually require from our family.
The boat is trusted, the crew is capable, and daily life afloat feels sustainable rather than temporary.
Expand our range gradually through Florida, the Keys, the Dry Tortugas, the Bahamas, and eventually the Caribbean. Learn provisioning, repairs away from home, remote work, passage planning, and how our family functions across weeks and months aboard.
Extended cruising has become our normal rhythm, not a vacation from ordinary life.
Prepare for our first ocean crossing only after years of coastal and island experience, when the family, the vessel, and the conditions are all ready. The crossing is not the beginning of the mission. It is the natural result of everything built before it.
We undertake the passage with earned confidence, realistic judgment, and no need to prove anything to anyone.
Every phase prepares us for the next. There are no shortcuts. Only experience earned one voyage at a time.
HOW THE JOURNEY ADVANCES
The boat purchase must support the mission, not bury it beneath new pressure.
Every member of the family needs time to adapt, learn, contribute, and feel secure aboard.
Each expansion in range follows proven systems, completed maintenance, and successful shakedown miles.
